UP TO SIX TRAVEL MANAGEMENT companies (TMCs) could join the GTMC in the next two months, Buying Business Travel understands.
The organisation scrapped its £7,000 joining fee for new members at its January AGM and started a major recruitment drive at the Business Travel and Meetings Show last month.
New chairman Michael Hare said the group must represent at least the top 50 TMCs in the UK to be regarded as the "natural beacon" of the business travel sector.
Incumbent members agreed to increase their own annual dues over a three-year period, bringing them into line with a £5,000 annual fee payable by new recruits. From April, associate membership status will be abolished.
