Lufthansa Group is to pilot a new 24-hour price “guarantee” for corporate bookings made through NDC channels.
The European aviation giant said that quoted fares for eligible NDC bookings, which include a valid Corporate Location Identifier (CLID), would be secured for 24 hours, during the trial period running from 1 October to 18 January 2027.
Lufthansa said the initiative was designed to give corporate travellers “internal approval time” before finalising their booking without missing out on the original quoted price.
“Corporate travel bookings frequently involve multi-step approval processes that standard booking windows do not accommodate,” explained the group in its statement.
“By extending the PGTL (Price Guarantee Time Limit) within its NDC framework, Lufthansa Group directly addresses this friction point, demonstrating that NDC can support the full corporate booking workflow, not only access to airline content and pricing.”
A spokesperson for the group told BTN that the trial would “assess uptake, commercial performance and partner feedback” before deciding whether to “extend or scale the proposition beyond the pilot”.
The offer applies worldwide, except for Economy Basic fares on European routes, as well as flights to and from Japan, and services departing from China.
Lufthansa also urged corporate clients to “confirm whether their travel partner holds an active NDC connection” in its announcement.
“The intention is to encourage corporates to verify that NDC is not only technically available, but fully enabled and operational for their bookings,” added the Lufthansa spokesperson.
“Connectivity and actual availability can differ depending on the agency, technology provider and booking setup. The message is about transparency and ensuring customers can access the intended NDC benefits.”
The group already offers a price guarantee for individual passengers on direct bookings with its airlines. This allows them to reserve the flight at the quoted price for 48 hours, subject to a surcharge starting at €7 per passenger depending on availability, destination and the time before departure.
