Patrick Roux
Airline alliance SkyTeam has named Patrick Roux as its new CEO and managing director.
Roux, who has worked for the Air France-KLM Group for the past 15 years, took over as SkyTeam boss from Kristen Colvile on 1 October. Colville is returning to work for Delta Air Lines after her four-year term leading SkyTeam came to an end.
Walter Cho, SkyTeam’s chairman, said: “We are delighted to welcome Patrick onboard as SkyTeam’s new CEO/managing director.
“He joins the alliance at an important point in time, and we have absolute confidence that his extensive experience will help us further build the alliance of the future through a continued focus on delivering a seamless travel experience.”
Roux has been working in the airline industry for more than 30 years after first joining Air France in the early 1990s. His most recent role was as Air France-KLM’s senior vice president for alliances, a position he had held since January 2016.
Colvile’s term as SkyTeam CEO included leading a “strategic transformation” of its technology platforms and steering the alliance through the pandemic, which saw the introduction of SkyCare&Protect, a series of personal health safety measures aligned across member airlines.
One of her final acts in the role was to announce last week that Virgin Atlantic would become SkyTeam’s first new member in more than eight years from early 2023.
“I thank Kristin for all her hard work and dedication over the last four years, during which she navigated the challenges of the pandemic to lead SkyTeam’s transformation into a more agile, digitally focused, value-oriented organisation,” added Cho.
