French rail operator SNCF Voyageurs has reshuffled its leadership following last month’s departure of chairman and CEO Christophe Fanichet. SNCF has named Jean-Aimé Mougenot CEO of its Voyageurs division, in addition to his current role as deputy director of the regional TER division. Laurent Trevisani has also been appointed chairman, alongside his current role as deputy CEO of SNCF Holding.
The board-approved appointments are among Jean Castex’s first major strategic moves since becoming SNCF group CEO and chairman last November.
Both Mougenot and Trevisani are both long-time SNCF executives.
Mougenot first joined the rail operator as a train driver in 1980 and has since held several management roles across its regional TER and operational Traction divisions. He has led the TER division since 2016.
Trevisani joined SNCF Group in 1996 as CFO and has since held several senior management roles, including group director of strategic planning and CEO of SNCF Participations, handling the group’s mergers and acquisitions. In 2014, he took on new responsibilities as Chief Finance and Development Officer at SNCF Mobilités, and later became deputy CEO of SNCF Holding. He will now combine that role with his new responsibilities as chairman of SNCF Voyageurs.
Trevisani also served as interim group CEO ahead of Castex’s appointment last year, after former SNCF head Jean-Pierre Farandou accepted a ministerial position in the new French government under prime minister Sébastien Lecornu.
