Nigel Parkinson
Travel management company Altour has promoted Nigel Parkinson to the role of managing director of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
Parkinson, who has been with Altour since 2008, was most recently senior vice president of global markets at the Internova-owned TMC.
In a statement, New York-based Altour said that Parkinson would join its executive leadership team following his promotion. As well as heading up its EMEA operations, Parkinson will also continue to lead Altour’s international markets as the TMC targets “accelerated” growth.
Altour’s president Gabe Rizzi said: “Nigel's expanded role comes at an exciting time for Altour. His deep understanding of the international travel landscape, proven track record of driving commercial success, and collaborative leadership style position him exceptionally well to help lead the next chapter of our growth.”
During his 18 years at Altour, Parkinson has also held the role of UK general manager and leadership positions in global sales and account management.
Parkinson said that the TMC had an “extraordinary opportunity ahead of it” in the EMEA region.
“I look forward to working with our teams and clients to build on that momentum and deliver even greater value for the businesses that trust us with their travel,” he added.
