New Italian carrier Aeroitalia is to start operating services between Milan Bergamo airport and London Heathrow.
The privately funded airline has announced that it will start flights on the route on December 1, with services operating five times per week.
Rome-based Aeroitalia began flights from Forli airport in northern Italy earlier this year and has a fleet of four Boeing B737-800 aircraft. The airline has also recently struck a deal with Air France-KLM’s engineering and maintenance subsidiary to support its launch.
The carrier has recently expanded to Milan Bergamo, where it plans to fly to Rome and Catania in Italy, and Bacau in Romania.
Aeroitalia will operate the Bergamo-Heathrow route on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. It will be the first service from Heathrow to the airport, although British Airways and ITA Airways fly to the city’s other airports.
