Icelandic low-cost carrier Play will launch transatlantic flights from its Reykjavik hub to Baltimore/Washington and Boston next spring, with connecting feeder flights from a number of European destinations.
The four-times-weekly service to Baltimore/Washington commences on 20 April and the four-times-weekly service to Boston on 11 May.
The airline will coordinate a host of its European operations to connect with the new transatlantic services, including flights from London Stansted, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Trondheim and Stavanger.
Flights from London Stansted to Baltimore/Washington will have a one hour, 25-minute layover in Reykjavik and flights from Stansted to Boston a one hour, 50-minute layover.
One-way fares for services between the UK and US start from £169.
“We’re proud to expand Play’s service to the United States, offering both American and European travellers a new way to reach iconic destinations,” said the airline’s CEO Birgir Jónsson.
The airline, which launched in June this year, recently announced the addition of several new European routes for its summer 2022 schedule including Dublin, Madrid and Brussels.
