Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY will launch flights from Reykjavik’s Keflavík International Airport to Dublin, Madrid and Brussels as part of its summer 2022 schedule.
Three-times-weekly services will launch from Iceland to Dublin at the end of April and to Brussels in May, followed by a twice-weekly service to Madrid in June.
The airline, which launched in June this year with flights to London Stansted, had already announced the addition of services to Lisbon, Bologna, Stuttgart and Prague next year, giving it a network of 23 destinations next summer.
Birgir Jónsson, CEO of PLAY, said: “It’s really enjoyable to add more destinations in Europe that will strengthen our route schedule. We are confident that these destinations will boost PLAY's operations and that our flights between Iceland and these cities will be popular among those living there.”
The airline currently operates from Iceland to destinations including Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen and Paris using a fleet of three new Airbus A320 Neo aircraft, and has ambitions to add services to North America in early 2022.
