Finnair is reconnecting its
network and increasing frequencies on key routes for the upcoming winter season
as travel rebounds.
The airline is increasing its
services on the route between its Helsinki hub and both London Heathrow and Paris CDG to
three times daily and will offer double-daily services to Amsterdam, Munich,
Dusseldorf, Berlin and Frankfurt.
The Polish cities of Krakow and
Gdansk will be introduced to the Finnair network for the winter season, while Madrid,
Barcelona, Malaga and the Canaries will see increased frequencies.
On its North American routes,
the carrier will add services to Chicago, previously a summer-only route, and
will fly daily to New York and three times a week to Miami and Los Angeles
from Helsinki. It is also introducing direct routes from Los Angeles and New York
to Stockholm, joining previously announced direct routes from the Swedish
capital to Miami, Phuket and Bangkok.
The Finnish flag carrier will
continue to serve its key Asian destinations, flying daily to Tokyo, Seoul and
Bangkok, and offer multiple weekly frequencies to Singapore and Hong Kong.
The airline’s Osaka service is
expected to resume in October, re-expanding Finnair’s presence in the Japanese
market, with Nagoya joining the route portfolio in February. Finnair will also
start serving its Dubai connection with a wide-body aircraft.
Ole Orvér, chief commercial officer
for Finnair, said, ”We are excited to be able to expand the breadth and depth
of our network, enabling better connections for customers as travel continues
to pick up.
“We are also re-introducing
services to support a smooth and convenient travel experience. We opened our
Helsinki Schengen lounge in August, and Finnair’s Non-Schengen Lounge will open
in early October.”
