Hyatt has continued its European expansion by signing a franchise agreement for a Hyatt Regency property in Berlin.
The Chicago-based company is adding the existing Hotel Palace Berlin to its portfolio, which will undergo a “phased” renovation of its rooms and public areas, and rebrand as the Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin in early 2027.
The hotel, which is located in Berlin's City West district opposite Berlin Zoo, includes 239 rooms and 39 suites, plus a club lounge, restaurant, two bars, spa and pool. It also features 18 venues for events and meetings, with total capacity for up to 900 attendees.
Hyatt already operates the Grand Hyatt Berlin in the German capital, as well as the Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side and Lindner Hotel Berlin Ku’damm, which is part of JdV by Hyatt collection.
Gabriela Basovska, Hyatt’s director of development for Northern Europe, said: “Hotel Palace Berlin has built an exceptional reputation over many years, and we're excited to welcome it to the Hyatt Regency brand.
"Its prime City West location, premium hospitality and exceptional meeting facilities make it a natural fit for a brand built around bringing people together.”
Hyatt Regency Palace Berlin will be the fourth Regency property in Germany — the brand already has hotels in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Mainz.
Hyatt Regency also recently opened a new hotel next to London’s redeveloped Olympia exhibition and conference centre. This will be followed in Q4 by the debut of Hyatt Regency Rome Central.
Hyatt has also opened Me and All Leipzig this summer, while The Standard Lisbon, Thompson Rome and Thompson Seville are all due to open in the final quarter of 2026.
