British Airways is to permanently drop services on 13 long-haul routes from the start of the summer 2021 season. The destinations which will no longer be served after 28 March 2021 will be:
• Pittsburgh (PIT)
• Calgary (YYC)
• Charleston (CHS)
• Seoul (ICN)
• Durban (DUR)
• Dammam (DMM)
• Lima (LIM)
• Osaka (KIX)
• Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
• Seychelles (SEZ) – last service 24 April 2021
• Abu Dhabi (AUH)
• Muscat (MCT)
• Jeddah (JED) – short adhoc operation to continue over Hajj period in July 2021
The airline has also said that it will not operate flights to Sydney, Bangkok and San Jose until at least 30 October.
A BA spokesperson said, "We are sorry that, like other airlines, due to the current coronavirus pandemic and global travel restrictions we are operating a reduced and dynamic schedule. We will be in touch with any customers whose flights are affected and advise customers to check ba.com for the latest flight information."
Passengers on the affected services can obtain a refund or rebook on services to an alternative gateway within 300 miles radius of the original point of destination.
Passengers travelling to Calgary can reroute to Vancouver (YVR) and those to Jeddah (JED) can fly to Riyadh (RUH). Travel to and from the original points are at their expense, including consequential costs, such as car hire or hotel stays.
