Business Travel Direct parent company Ickenham Travel Group has signalled expansion with the appointment of a new group managing director.
Frank Rejwan, who joins from private members club Quintessentially, where he was regional chief executive officer, will oversee Ickenham’s three brands, which include tour operator Letsgo2 and representation company ITG Sales and Marketing.
The restructuring frees former group managing director Julie Oliver to oversee Business Travel Direct in the role of managing director of the business travel arm. The travel management company provides more than 70% of Ickenham’s turnover and Rejwan said BTD would maintain its proportion of Ickenham’s turnover despite “huge” expansion plans for the Letsgo2 brand.
“The group has grown and Julie’s remit was getting bigger and bigger,” he said. “My appointment was to address the fact that her role was becoming very stretched. It’s great for our business clients that Julie can refocus on them.”
Rejwan added that BTD “had not been good at telling people how good we are” and that more effort would be put into marketing.
“We have been doing this for 40 years and do not shout enough about it,” he said.
