EasyJet pilots based in France are set to strike for two days next week in an ongoing dispute over working conditions.
Members of the SNPL pilots’ union said that its members who work for easyJet would walk out on 13-14 September. The dispute centres on the “chronic instability” of pilot rosters at easyJet, according to a statement by SNPL.
The union said it had been trying to negotiate with the airline’s management on improving pilot rosters for four months, but it had now called the strike due to “a lack of sufficient progress” in these talks.
SNPL stressed that easyJet’s management could still avert next week’s strike and it was “open to dialogue” with the airline.
The pilots strike is due to start at 4.59am on Sunday, 13 September, and run until 11.59pm on Monday, 14 September.
EasyJet cabin crew based in France held their own two-day strike in August as part of a separate dispute on “deteriorating” work conditions at the airline.
