BUSINESS TRAVELLERS WANT THE BEST of both worlds when it comes to booking travel, an American Express survey has concluded.
A global study of 1,000 frequent travellers found that the majority preferred to book online but wanted access to agents 24 hours a day while they were actually away.
A total of 55 per cent expressed a preference for booking on the web, but 46 per cent said they were more likely to turn to an agent for help in changing travel plans when on the road.
An overwhelming majority - 81 per cent - said they did not care in which country the agent was situated.
The results have prompted American Express to launch a new service option, Universal aXcess, which combines agent and online services.
