BCD Travel has introduced New Distribution Capability (NDC) content with British Airways, as part of the travel management company’s strategy to "accelerate NDC availability and grow those bookings at scale".
The TMC said it had worked with the airline to “make sure the British Airways NDC content met our certification criteria and the needs of our corporate customers”.
BCD added that BA’s inclusion in its NDC programme was a “milestone” that now gives travellers “access to richer content and additional modern retailing options”.
Thane Jackson, BCD’s SVP of global distribution strategy and supplier management and delivery, said: “As a global TMC, being able to deliver British Airways' NDC content is a testament to our strong partnership and collaboration with the British Airways team and our distribution systems partners.
“We’re very pleased with our long-term collaboration and partnership with British Airways, and our ability to offer the best options for travellers.”
The TMC said its systems now have NDC connections with 54 airlines, with content from 22 of those carriers available to book by the end of this year, including BA.
BCD added that NDC bookings currently account for 65 per cent of traveller itineraries in cases where NDC is enabled.
Colm Lacy, chief commercial officer at British Airways, added: “This collaboration highlights our commitment to innovation and enhancing the travel experience.
“NDC enables tailored offers in real-time, delivering an even more seamless, customer-centric shopping experience. Our partnership with BCD is a significant step towards our NDC and modern retailing goals.”
