Angela Lille
The Austrian Business Travel Association (ABTA) has appointed Angela Lille as its new president, taking over from incumbent Roman Neumeister.
Lille, who is head of HR systems and travel management at Erste Group, was previously vice president at the business travel association.
She was appointed ABTA’s president at the association’s general meeting in Vienna last week. Following the move, Neumeister will act as a vice president.
As well as her role at ABTA, Lille has also been leading the sustainability working group at European travel buyer association group BT4Europe in the past few years.
Lille again emphasised the importance of climate change and sustainability as she took up the position of ABTA’s president.
“People say that I am an idealist — and yes, I like to be. It drives me to pursue visions and make them reality together with others. In a time of disruptive change, strong connections are our greatest strength,” she said.
“It takes people and organisations that remain courageous, agile and connected. We are ABTA — we move business together. We bring people together, we connect companies regionally, nationally and internationally. We learn from each other, inspire each other and actively shape change.”
In other moves, it was announced that ABTA's vice president Sabine Toplak and secretary general Peter Tolinger will step down at the end of their current terms.
Meanwhile, Michael Glück (BTU Business Unlimited), Kirsten Hauft-Tulic (Fronius International), Alexander Klöckler (BWH Hotels Central Europe) and Bettina Scheriau (SSI Schäfer IT Solutions) have all joined the association’s board.
