Erno Hildén
AirBaltic has announced the arrival of Erno Hildén as the Latvian carrier’s new CEO.
Hilden, who was previously group chief financial officer (CFO) of SAS Scandinavian Airlines until June, replaces AirBaltic’s interim CEO Pauls Cālītis who returns to his duties as chief operating officer.
“I will focus on ensuring continuity, strengthening day-to-day operations, and supporting the airline’s strategic development and long-term sustainability,” said Hildén of his new role.
“AirBaltic plays a vital role in the connectivity and economic development of the Baltic region, and I look forward to applying my extensive experience to support its next phase.”
Before joining SAS, Hildén had also worked at Saudi Arabian Airlines Group and Finnair during his carrier in aviation. His appointment as AirBaltic’s new CEO was announced in August.
AirBaltic now serves more than 80 destinations and will add six new routes a part of its summer 2026 schedule.
European aviation giant Lufthansa Group is planning to take a minority stake of 10 per cent in AirBaltic along with a seat on its supervisory board.
