BCD Travel is revamping its global business structure,
merging its European and UK and Ireland businesses, while also consolidating
leadership of its global network operations in Asia Pacific, the Middle East
and Africa.
The TMC's newly combined European and UK and Ireland
divisions – which previously operated independently – will be led by Mike
Walley as president of Europe for BCD. Walley has overseen BCD's UK and Ireland
operations for the past 14 years and will now expand his leadership role
throughout Europe.
BCD's current head for Europe, Middle East and Africa,
Stewart Harvey, will leave the company later this month, the company said.
Harvey joined BCD as EMEA president in 2015.
The departing Harvey's oversight responsibilities for the
Middle East and Africa will fall to Greg O'Neil, who will serve as president of
Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa and global network. O'Neil has been BCD's
president of Asia Pacific since 2009 and adds the two new regions and global
network operations to his leadership bailiwick.
Both Walley and O'Neil will continue reporting directly to
BCD president and CEO John Snyder.
In a statement, Snyder said the changes to BCD's global
corporate structure "reflect our commitment to aligning our organisation
with long-term business needs as well as shorter-term trends in travel demand".
BCD is the second major TMC to revamp its corporate
structure this month, following CWT's announcement that it would divide its
operations into three overarching business units.
