Spain is easing some of its Covid-19 entry rules for visitors from non-EU countries.
The country is no longer requiring travellers from countries such as the UK, US, Australia and Canada to fill in and present its health control form, known as the SPTH, on arrival in Spain.
The move came into effect on Tuesday (20 September), although non-EU passengers will continue to have to present proof of being fully vaccinated, having recovered from Covid within six months or a negative test result.
Spain’s health ministry said in an online update that the decision was part of the country’s attempts to “normalise” travel following the pandemic.
“It will no longer be necessary to complete the health check form to travel to Spain or present the QR code of the SPTH at the airport on arrival,” added the ministry.
Spain has had some of the most stringent Covid rules for travellers in Europe and an order requiring unvaccinated travellers to provide proof of recovery or a negative test result will remain in place until 15 November under current plans.
