Air France and Hertz have extended their ongoing partnership, established in 1989, until 2011 and are planning new solutions to make the transition from air to car travel more accessible
Nice airport is the site where current trials are taking place for the latest Access Plus Next Generation initiative. Selected members of both Hertz #1 Club Gold and Air France”s frequent flyer programme, Flying Blue, are testing the new initiative, which is designed to eliminate collecting car keys from a separate kiosk upon arrival in the airport terminal.
Using a special radio frequency identification card (pictured) to book their vehicle, trial customers will insert their card at a dedicated kiosk in their destination airport, where the main elements of their booking are printed on to the card. They then go straight to the airport car park, where they can open and start the car using the same card. Only if the card is lost would they need to visit a Hertz desk.
”This exclusive service adds a new dimension to the air travel concept designed by Air France for its customers,” said Air France vice president marketing, Patrick Roux. ”The continuation of our partnership with Hertz enables us to offer a stronger customer proposition worldwide, with even more benefits than before.”
