People intending to travel internationally
from England must complete a new declaration form from Monday 29 March. The
change coincides with the second stage of the relaxation of lockdown measures in which the requirement
to stay at home is set to end.
Different rules apply when departing Northern Ireland,
Scotland and Wales.
From 29 March, travellers must have a
reasonable excuse to leave England. This
includes essential travel for business or official work purposes where it
is not reasonably possible to complete that work from home.
The government has a list of permitted occupations
for work.
Some occupations, such as offshore oil and gas workers, must complete the new form whereas others,
including aerospace engineers, do not.
The changes also
mean it is possible for non-UK residents to leave the
country after the end of a temporary visit.
