TORONTO CITY CENTRE AIRPORT”S future is still not clear with the Air Canada subsidiary Jazz forced to stop services, it says on a temporary basis, for the month of March due to major refurbishment work. Toronto”s waterside airport is unique. It is connected to the mainland by a ferry and various attempts over the years to build a bridge have failed due to legal and planning restraints. The good news is that the work is part of the conditions set by REGCO (Regional Airlines Holdings Inc) a new, yet to fly, regional carrier that has ordered ten of the locally built Bombardier Dash 400 turboprop.
