Norse Atlantic Airways is to introduce a new route between Manchester and Bangkok this winter.
The Norwegian budget long-haul carrier will operate the weekly Manchester-Bangkok service from 26 November. Norse Atlantic has already announced plans for a new London Gatwick to Bangkok route from late October, as well as Stockholm-Bangkok flights.
Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways, said: “This route has been waiting to happen, and we’re proud to be the ones making it a reality. Manchester is a key gateway to the North of England, and Bangkok is a magnet for adventure, business and culture.”
The new long-haul route will be the first non-stop service between Manchester and the Thai capital.
“Many people from the region travel there every year but until now they have had to book connecting flights,” added Manchester Airport’s managing director Chris Woodroofe. “This new route will make a huge difference by meaning people can get there directly from the UK’s global gateway in the North.”
