BCD Travel and Emburse have expanded their partnership to provide a more integrated travel and expense management offering to clients, the companies announced on Monday (3 August).
The partnership combines BCD’s TripSource platform, which recently added more AI functionality and introduced a Model Context Protocol server, with Emburse’s AI-powered capabilities to automate the flow of travel and expense data “from booking through reimbursement with embedded policy controls,” the companies said.
The “deeper integration” will bring travel booking, expense creation and reconciliation into a single workflow, reducing manual administration for travellers while providing travel managers and finance teams with “real-time” data insights, the companies said.
“By integrating booking, access to data, and policy controls more deeply with Emburse, we are helping travellers and finance teams simplify the traveller experience while improving compliance and operational efficiency,” said Mike Janssen, global chief commercial officer at BCD.
Emburse chief revenue officer Michele Shepard added: “What sets this partnership apart is that it is the only collaboration between a TMC and an expense provider to embed AI directly into connected travel and expense, bringing intelligence and guidance into the moments when decisions are made.”
Details on customer availability and future roadmap enhancements are expected to be announced “in the coming months”.
As part of the expanded partnership, the companies said they will also collaborate on joint customer engagements, sales enablement and “continued innovation”.
