LONDON CITY AIRPORT has been saved from a potentially embarrassing clash on what undoubtedly will be a thin route. Within days of BA franchise partner Sun Air announcing a twice daily, 32 - seat Dornier 328 service into the dockland airport, SAS came up with virtually the same product, but with the 68 - seat Bombardier Dash 400. Now Sun Air has pulled out saying it will concentrate on its core routes local to Denmark. City airport managing director Richard Gooding is still keen to add further new destinations, the LCY web site promoting Glasgow, Madrid, Vienna and Stockholm as potential targets.
