KLM has launched a new transatlantic route between Amsterdam and Austin in Texas, which takes its US destinations up to a new record number this summer.
The route, which started on 28 March, will operate for the summer season three times weekly on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. KLM has never previously flown non-stop to Austin.
KLM will be using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the route, including World Business Class flatbeds with direct aisle access, HD entertainment and on-board Wi-Fi.
The addition of Austin as a destination and the resumption of flights to Salt Lake City in Utah will increase KLM’s US routes to 12 this summer – a record number for the carrier. Austin is the Dutch carrier's second Texas destination, as it already flies to Houston.
KLM also expects its European capacity this summer to “almost match” its 2019 schedule as the airline rebuilds its network.
