JetBlue is to add another daily flight between London and New York as the airline continues to build up its transatlantic network.
The US carrier, which finally launched flights from both Heathrow and Gatwick to New York’s JFK airport last year, will introduce a second daily service between Gatwick and JFK from 29 October.
JetBlue has also consolidated its long-term position at Heathrow by securing permanent slots at the UK’s hub airport for flights operating from 29 October.
The airline will also start two new services between London and Boston Logan airport in the coming months, with the Gatwick route launching on 4 August, followed by Heathrow-Boston on 20 September. Both services will operate on a daily basis and will increase JetBlue’s daily flights from London up to five from autumn 2022 onwards.
Robin Hayes, JetBlue’s CEO, said: “The US-UK air corridor is among the busiest in the world and to effectively compete JetBlue is adding more flights across the North Atlantic, growing from just one daily flight last summer to five by this fall.
“With permanent slots at Heathrow – the highest in-demand slots globally – we’re now positioned to provide long-term service at one of the busiest airports in the world.”
