The UK, the mid-west and south-east areas of Ireland, the Finnish
region of Pirkanmaa and Barbados have been removed from Germany’s list of risk
areas.
The change means that arrivals from these countries are no
longer required to enter a ten-day quarantine on arrival in the country.
However, international travel from the UK is still not
permitted until at least 17 May, except in limited circumstances.
At the same time, Germany’s Robert Koch Institut has added
the United Arab Emirates, the Portuguese regions of the Azores and the Algarve, and the Spanish community of Castile-La Mancha to its list of risk areas. Arrivals
from these countries need to provide a negative test result within 48 hours of arriving in
Germany as well as entering quarantine.
Argentina is named as a high incidence area in the latest version
of the list. Arrivals from the country must provide evidence of a negative test
taken no earlier than 48 hours before entry into Germany.
