Emirates has restarted flights between London Stansted and Dubai as it continues to rebuild its network from the UK.
The airline suspended services from Stansted in March 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold around the world. The move means Emirates now offers nine daily flights from three London airports, with six daily services from Heathrow and another two departures from Gatwick every day.
Emirates had originally planned to operate five times per week from Stansted but this will be immediately upgraded to a daily service instead of waiting until 1 September. The airline is flying a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route including the Game Changer first-class cabin.
Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ divisional vice president in the UK, said: “Bookings in the UK and London have continued to surge with the further easing of travel restrictions and as appetite for international travel grows stronger.
“Stansted is a key hub for Emirates in the east and southeast of the UK as we continue to scale up travel following the pandemic.”
The airline also announced that it would be restoring Newcastle-Dubai flights, which operate five times per week, to their pre-Covid schedule by moving the service back to a morning departure from 30 October. Emirates said this change would “improve connectivity and offer customers better travel options”.
