EasyJet has announced 12 new domestic routes starting in July and will expand services to and from Belfast following the
collapse of Aer Lingus franchise partner Stobart Air.
The carrier says it is launching twice-daily services from Belfast City
to London Gatwick for the first time and will operate flights four times a week between Belfast International and both Leeds
Bradford and East Midlands.
It is also adding additional capacity on routes from Belfast
International to Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager said: “We were
sorry to see the news about Stobart Air and so are pleased to continue to
provide key regional connectivity from Belfast International Airport to East
Midlands and Leeds Bradford airports, as well as launching easyJet operations
for the very first time from Belfast City Airport to London Gatwick.”
The airline has also announced the launch of services from Bristol to
Jersey and Aberdeen, Manchester to Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Birmingham to Jersey
and Newquay, Liverpool to Bournemouth, Inverness to Newquay and Newcastle to
Jersey.
All 12 new services will launch between 9 and 11 July.
