Dublin airport’s transatlantic services have been boosted by a major increase in capacity from American Airlines this summer.
The US carrier is offering more seats from the Irish capital than during summer 2019 with daily routes to Charlotte, Dallas, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Dalton Philips, CEO of DAA, which operates Dublin airport, said: “It is great to see the expansion of American Airlines. In Ireland, we enjoy deep connections with the United States, so this new expansion of connectivity is great news for both business and leisure passengers.”
Dublin will offer flights from 44 airlines to 180 destinations this summer as the airport looks to “rebuild its global reach” after the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rhett Workman, American Airlines’ managing director for Europe, Middle East and Asia, added: “We are proud to continue to expand our footprint across Europe with more flying from Dublin to our US hubs, providing more flexible travel options to our customers who are eager to return to the skies.”
