Air France will open the largest lounge in its international network at New York JFK’s New Terminal One in 2027, the carrier announced on Tuesday (15 September).
Spanning two levels and more than 2,700 square metres, the lounge will be reserved for the carrier’s La Première, business class and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers, as well as eligible travellers flying with sister airline KLM and other SkyTeam alliance partners.
Designed with MARKS Brandimage, the agency behind the carrier’s recently renovated La Première lounge in Paris, the new facility will seat more than 400 guests. It will include dining areas, a bar serving French wines and champagnes, and dedicated spaces for work, rest and beauty treatments.
Flying Blue Ultimate members will have a reserved space, while La Première customers will have access to a dedicated dining area.
Air France plans to transfer all its New York JFK flights to the new terminal, which is scheduled to open in phases between 2026 and 2030 as part of a $19 billion transformation project.
During the summer season, Air France operates up to six daily flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and New York JFK, including four Boeing 777-300ER services featuring its new La Première cabins. Its transatlantic joint-venture partner Delta Air Lines operates a further three flights between Paris CDG and New York JFK.
The lounge forms part of Air France’s programme of improvements to the La Première airport experience, launched two years ago, and follows the recent opening of new or revamped lounges at Paris CDG, London Heathrow and Frankfurt airports.
