£1m development to be rolled out
Hotelscene, a hotel and meetings specialist, is to launch a new online hotel booking tool next week.
MyStay, which has cost £1m to develop, is 32% quicker than its existing tool and also updates hotel rates on a daily basis, the company said.
The new tool, which was built completely in house, will replace its existing booking system Corporate Xtranet which was launched in 2002.
Nick Foot, Hotelscene's managing director, said the current tool had achieved an adoption rate of around 73% but he expected MyStay to push that up to 80% or 90%.
The new tool will embrace company's travel policy and traveller profiles and includes which show the distance from a hotel to a firm's office.
It can load up preferred hotels including any which are not on the GDSs.
Mr Foot said it had been developed over the past 18 months including three months of testing from June to August.
It will be rolled out from next month.
He said a new tool was needed as technology had "dramatically moved on in the last seven years."
The new tool can be customised to any company's needs and Mr Foot said it would help corporate save money on both booking time and hotel rates.
He added: "MyStay will firmly position Hotelscene as the leader in corporate hotel booking technology.
"With fewer screens from start to finish, our customer efficiency will be dramatically improved."
"Higher adoption levels will also reduce booking costs."
