HILTON WORLDWIDE has set a November opening date for its new Waldorf Astoria property in Syon Park, the London home of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Some of the revenues from the 137-room luxury hotel will be diverted to help fund the restoration of the nearby Grade I listed Syon House.
The London Syon Park, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel will have 1,000sq m of state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities, several 'destination' restaurants and bars, and a bespoke spa with swimming pool. Quirkily, it will also have a butterfly house in the lobby and an ice-cream parlour.
The new Waldorf Astoria will struggle to attain the celebrity status of the Duke's other home, Alnwick Castle in Northumbria - better known by Harry Potter aficionados as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
