Budget hotel chain Travelodge has announced plans to open 36 new properties by 2015 in partnership with five UK pub companies. Travelodge said negotiations worth £100 million were underway with Greene King, JW Lees, Marston's, Mitchells & Butlers and JD Wetherspoon.
The locations are expected to be announced in the coming months. A spokesperson for Travelodge said many of the sites would be located in city centres.
Travelodge is already 'co-located' with pub companies in 15 cities across the UK, including Hereford, Crewe and Chester. The £100m plan aims to take advantage of the UK's "recent upsurge in activity from the pub sector", Travelodge said.
