Air France's new cabin offers more space and extra amenities at an affordable price
In October 2009 Air France launched a new cabin on its long-haul flights. This new cabin, positioned between the Affaires (business class) and Voyageur (economy class) cabins offers spacious fixed shell seats, many business class amenities and special touches in the style for which Air France is famous.
40% More Comfort
Premium Voyageur's cabin provides 40% more individual space compared to economy class. Its specially designed fixed shell seats were created to enhance passengers' comfort and sense of privacy. In fact, you can fully recline your seat to 123 degrees without disturbing the person behind you. The spacious 48cm seat width, leather armrests and generous 38 inch seat pitch for extra leg room, all go towards ensuring a comfortable journey. There is nearly a metre between seat rows. Furthermore, each seat has a PC plug, a large tray for a laptop computer and a personal adjustable reading lamp.
The Amenities Abound
Premium Voyageur passengers are treated to a travel amenity kit, a feather pillow and pure new wool blanket (all identical to business class), a personal bottle of water and noise-reducing headphones providing high quality hi-fi sound. The menu is designed by renowned chef Michel Nugues, and offers a choice of two delicious hot dishes. The accompanying Champagne, wines and liqueurs are selected by world-class sommelier Olivier Poussier. The in-flight entertainment includes over 85 on-demand movies in 9 languages and 17 games, that can be viewed on an individual 10.4 inch interactive video screen.
Airport Extras
Premium Voyageur service begins with special attention at the airport. Priority check-in desks (available at certain airports), an increased baggage allowance (identical to business class), priority baggage delivery on arrival and boarding at your own convenience are all part of the Premium Voyageur experience.
Bonus Flying Blue Miles
Premium Voyageur passengers who are members of Flying Blue, AIR FRANCE KLM's frequent flyer programme, will receive an additional 25% bonus Miles, and will be able to gain access quicker to a higher tier level. Subject to certain conditions, Miles can be used to upgrade from Voyageur (economy) to Premium Voyageur.
