Key Travel, which specialises in the charity sector, has more than doubled staff numbers in the US since launching there a year ago.
The TMC bought Washington-based World Travel Management to expand its business in the non-profit, faith and voluntary organisation sectors. The subsidiary has since more than doubled staff numbers at the office from five to 12, and increased revenue by US$2 million. Key Travel handles clients including Oxfam and the Aga Khan Foundation.
Steve Summers, Key Travel's CEO, said: "We have been surprised at the low levels of awareness of humanitarian fares and the savings that can be made on travel spending when they are used. We believe there is huge potential to extend our services in the US and to ensure that charities, faith and voluntary groups get value for money."
