Japan Airlines (JAL) and China Eastern Airlines today (May 27) announced plans to expand their codeshares.
From next week, the two carriers will codeshare on routes from Shanghai to three Chinese cities: Xi'an, Wuhan and Shenzhen.
The carriers will also increase frequency from four to nine flights a day on the two existing codeshare routes from Shanghai to Chengdu and Changqing.
Air traffic between China and Japan is expected to increase after the latter's government easing of restriction on visas for Chinese nationals.
