INTERCONTINENTAL HOTELS GROUP (IHG) has signed a 20-year management contract with Splendid Hotel Group for a 254-room hotel in central London.
What will become the InterContinental London Westminster opens in late 2011 in time for the Olympic Games the following year.
The hotel - only the second InterContinental branded property in the capital - is a conversion of Queen Anne's Chambers, a 19th-century building close to New Scotland Yard. Splendid Hotel Group is an existing IHG franchisee with Holiday Inn hotels in Manchester and London.
