CARLSON WAGONLIT TRAVEL has been appointed, alongside Amadeus and Evolvi Rail Systems, to manage travel for the Home Office.
Amadeus will provide the air and hotel booking technology, Evolvi will provide the rail booking tool, and CWT will be responsible for managing the whole project. It will provide a bespoke version of CWT Portal to help with planning, booking, on-trip requirements and reporting.
The three partners will deliver a customised solution, specific to the Home Office, designed to encourage the use of online booking tools.
Nigel Turner, director of public sector and industry affairs for Carlson Wagonlit Travel UK, promised: "This partnership will combine the key specialisms of each partner to produce a highly effective resolution."
Carlson has also signed an agreement with Holiday Extras owned Business Travel Extras (BTE), giving its clients access to heavily-discounted airport car parking.
BTE claims its online pre-bookable prices are up to 60 per cent less than gate rates, taking the price at Heathrow, for example, down to less than £7 per day.
BTE business development director Leanne Flack said: "Around 70 per cent of business travellers choose to drive to the airport, so our service represents a cost-effective option for them."
