New research from Euromonitor International reveals that business travel will perform better than leisure travel in the short-term, with Africa and the Middle East seeing the strongest performance.
The figures were unveiled at the WTM Vision Conference – London last week.
The research group looked at travel in terms of the compound annual growth rate in international arrivals between 2010 and 2015. Leisure arrivals into Africa and the Middle East will increase by 4.5% during the period, with business arrivals up 6.4%.
North America also turns in a strong business growth, with arrivals increasing by around 6.3% per annum. Asia Pacific, eastern Europe and Latin America are all expected to see growth in business arrivals outperform leisure.
A worry for Europe plc is that business travel is expected to grow by less than 3% per annum, slightlyless than the projected growth in leisure. Australasia is also tipped to see less business travel growth than leisure.
