ASIA IS POISED TO become the travel industry's most dominant region, according to a travel technology company.
Abacus International, a global distribution system based in the region, said Asia was the most significant location in terms of air transport, business and leisure travel, ancillary revenue models and adoption of mobile technology.
The company, which is owned by Sabre and a consortium of airlines, said bookings in 2010 through its reservations system were up 11 per cent year-on-year and had already surpassed pre-recession levels.
