FOLLOWING THE OPENING in London of the first Hotel Indigo outside North America, brand owners InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans for three more properties in the UK capital.
The Hotel Indigo London Paddington, owned by London Town Hotels, is a 64-room conversion of nine Georgian townhouses within 100m of Paddington railway station.
Under a deal with City Site Estates, IHG now plans three more Indigo properties - a 38-room hotel in Cannon Street and a 43-room development in nearby Philpot Lane, both in the City, and a 51-room property in Kensington Church Street.
All three are due to be up and running by 2012.
Speaking at the Paddington opening, London Town Hotels' managing director Koolesh Shah, said: "Over the last few years, new businesses have put down roots in Paddington and we've seen a surge in the number of people looking for a place to stay. Our hotel will attract a new type of guest who is looking for something a little bit different."
