Reed & Mackay has announced that its corporate clients can now access all of British Airways’ content, including NDC content, through its proprietary booking platforms after the launch of a direct connection to the airline’s API.
The travel management company, number 9 on the 2020 leading 50 TMCs list, said the content would be available on mobile, online and through the company’s travel team.
Fred Stratford, group CEO, Reed & Mackay said: “Travel is unpredictable – especially right now. It was essential for our clients that not only did we have access to British Airways’ NDC content through our proprietary technology, but that we could also continue to protect and care for our clients, 24/7 with end-to-end trip management.”
Rogier van Enk, British Airways’ head of distribution, said: "This partnership means that even more customers will benefit from British Airways’ exclusive NDC content and it demonstrates our continued focus and investment in delivering a robust and scalable NDC solution for both the TMC and corporate communities.”
Mark Muren, British Airways’ head of global sales, said: “Today’s announcement is a great outcome for Reed & Mackay, for British Airways and for our mutual corporate customers. This achievement is a testament to the constructive working relationship we’ve cultivated together over many years.”
British Airways and Iberia announced yesterday that they had both achieved recertification at IATA [email protected] for another year.
[email protected] is the highest certification level that IATA provides to airlines on the NDC standard, a set of criteria that demonstrates that the airline has the capabilities to drive volumes of NDC transactions, enable effective servicing and support customers.
The airlines said, “This is yet another significant step forward, demonstrating the commitment and continuous investment to improving and enhancing NDC capabilities for [our] customers.”
The Advantage consortium of TMCs recently announced it would offer NDC content from more than 25 airlines through a deal with AirGateway.
