Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will introduce a corporate credit card programme created specifically for small and midsize businesses in the Nordic region, the company announced on Wednesday (28 May).
The card combines a credit facility with EuroBonus loyalty rewards and additional travel perks, such as Priority Pass membership. It also features a dedicated app that integrates expense and receipt management directly into ERP systems, according to the carrier.
The scheme is operated by SAS as part of its EuroBonus loyalty programme, with card issuance and credit services provided by Swedish bank Nordiska, utilising their Cards-as-a-Service infrastructure. Meanwhile, the app and expense management functionality will be delivered by Danish fintech firm Cardlay.
The rollout will take place “in phases” across Scandinavia, starting with the launch in September of the SAS Executive Business Card, which will be issued as a Mastercard World Elite card.
Executive Business cardholders will receive 20,000 annual level points for EuroBonus tier status, plus SAS Lounge access, Priority Pass membership, premium travel insurance, digital cards and “flexible” credit limits, according to SAS. They also earn 25 EuroBonus points per 100 SEK (about €9) spent.
An SAS spokesperson told BTN Europe the card programme is “currently only for Scandinavia”, with no existing plans to extend the rollout internationally.
In a statement, SAS chief commercial officer Paul Verhagen said: “Companies tell us they want less administration, clearer travel benefits and a card that genuinely supports how Scandinavian businesses operate. With this programme, they get smoother expense handling, EuroBonus points, better travel experiences for their teams and a single product that replaces what previously required several cards and platforms.”
