Germany’s Condor Airlines has named former Lufthansa executive Dag Jessel as CFO, succeeding Björn Walther, as well as appointing Pierre Dominique Prümm to the newly created role of chief commercial officer (CCO).
The moves come as Condor continues to expand its network, which has included the recent launch of flights between Frankfurt and London Gatwick, as well as new services to other major European cities.
Condor is also planning to launch flights from Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi later this year, although they have been delayed by the Middle East crisis.
Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, said: “As Condor continues to evolve into a network airline through the expansion of its city network, the requirements for commercial management, co-ordination and strategic development are increasing significantly.
“For this reason, we decided to create the new position of chief commercial officer. During the largest growth phase in Condor’s history, we are deliberately investing where additional management and decision-making capabilities can make a direct contribution to the success of our transformation.”
Jessel takes up his new role with Condor on 6 July. He takes over from Walther, who had been the airline’s CFO since 2022 and is leaving the company “at his own request”, according to a statement. While at Lufthansa Group, Jessel was director of finance and HR for North Asia, and he also held roles in mergers and acquisitions.
Prümm has two decades of aviation leadership experience — most recently as executive board member for aviation and infrastructure at Fraport, where he was responsible for the operational and strategic core business of Frankfurt Airport.
In his new role at Condor, Prümm will be responsible for network and partnerships, revenue management, cargo, sales and e-commerce.
