Indian technology specialist Mystifly is targeting the UK corporate travel sector with its My Fare Box system which compares flight prices across the globe.
The company, which is based in Bangalore, presented its software to a group of independent TMCs in London this week in a bid to sign up more customers from the UK business travel industry.
My Fare Box aims to save corporate clients money on flights by comparing prices across a range of different platforms including multiple GDSs, airlines’ websites and systems, plus other third-party content aggregators such as Travel Fusion, which effectively acts as a GDS for no-frills airlines.
Rajeev Kumar, CEO of Mystifly, said that the idea of My Fare Box was to make it easier for TMCs to book flights for journeys not originating in their main country of operation.
“There’s not a single source where you can book these flights,” he said. “The idea is not to sell anything flying out of the UK but to provide content for flights outside the UK.”
Kumar said that using My Fare Box could produce savings on flights of between £25 and £250 “depending on the route” by taking prices from a wider range of sources and consolidating them on to a single platform with all prices in listed in pounds rather than local currencies.
My Fare Box features more than 900 airlines across 51 countries and the system allows customers to amend bookings before tickets are issued as well as holding seats for a specified time limit. It also displays baggage allowances, fare rules and breaks down all taxes and fees.
To use the system, TMCs buy a two-year licence and pay a monthly support fee.
My Fare Box is being represented in the UK and Ireland by Norman Gage, who was formerly director of business travel at travel agency consortium Advantage.
