Wizz Air is expanding operations in Montenegro with the addition of 14 new routes from the capital of Podgorica for the upcoming summer season.
The Hungary-based budget carrier this week announced plans to establish a base at the Montenegro capital, where two Airbus A321neo aircraft will operate flights to 14 European cities from 29 March 2026.
The new routes from Podgorica commencing in late March will be to Malmo, Paris, Hamburg and Maastricht. Flights to Malmo will operate four times weekly from 29 March, while services to Paris (from 30 March), Hamburg and Maastricht (from 31 March) will operate three times weekly.
Three-times-weekly flights to Barcelona, Basel Mulhouse and Rzeszow will commence from 1 June, with the addition of flights to Rome, Baden-Baden, Cologne and Ljubljana from 2 June. Twice-weekly flights to Poznan will launch on 4 June, while services to Gdansk and Wroclaw will commence on 7 June and 16 June, respectively, each operating four times weekly.
The carrier said the new routes will add 1 million seats annually to its network, and its expanded 2026 summer schedule will offer a total of 23 routes across 12 countries from Podgorica.
Wizz Air CEO József Váradi said: “We are proud to deepen our roots in Podgorica and bring more opportunities to the people of Montenegro. This base is more than an operational expansion – it’s a long-term investment in the future of Montenegrin mobility, economy and global reach.”
