Virgin Atlantic has announced an “accelerated” rollout of the Starlink onboard wifi service across its entire fleet.
The UK airline, which first announced plans to install Elon Musk’s Starlink in July 2025, said that it would start fitting the system onboard its Airbus A350 aircraft in May. It will initially be available on flights from London Heathrow to New York JFK airports from early May.
Virgin Atlantic said Starlink is scheduled to be installed on all A350s by early summer before being added to Boeing 787s in the second half of 2026 and then to its Airbus A330neo aircraft in 2027.
Juha Jaervinen, chief customer officer at Virgin Atlantic, added: “We were the first UK airline to announce free, fleet-wide Starlink wifi, and from May, we’re starting to deliver it for our customers.
“As the rollout gathers pace, we plan to deliver 100 per cent Starlink connectivity across our fleet in 2027, as part of our focus on creating a brilliantly connected experience.”
European airline groups have increasingly turned to Starlink to offer an improved onboard wifi service, including British Airways’ parent company IAG, Lufthansa Group, Air France and SAS.
