United Airlines has announced it is to start a daily non-stop service between London Heathrow and Boston Logan International Airport.
The service will be operated with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, including 46 United Polaris Business Class, 22 United Premium Plus, 43 United Economy Plus and 56 United Economy seats.
The US-bound flight will leave Heathrow at 5pm, arriving in Boston at 7.30pm while the UK-bound flight will leave Boston at 10pm, arriving at 9.35am the next morning.
The route is already serviced by British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and American Airlines. JetBlue has also announced its intention to start services on the route.
United claimed its service would offer “the highest proportion of premium seats on any widebody aircraft operated by a US carrier between London and the United States”.
A start date has not yet been fixed for the service.
Patrick Quayle, United’s vice president of International Network and Alliances, said, “We will continue to monitor the demand recovery and travel restrictions as we finalise a start date for this service later in 2021.”
